BIO
Alessandra Alcala is a Pianist, Music Director, and Composer/Arranger. A Southern California native based at home in LA, she began classical piano lessons as a kid and found herself spending more time reading through piano reductions of film and theatre scores than with Beethoven (however much she still adores Beethoven!). Alessandra served on the music teams for Center Theatre Group's revival of The Secret Garden at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre, workshops for The Life of Death at the Kirk Douglas, and recently assisted with Hello, Dolly! in Concert at Carnegie Hall. She spent two holiday seasons traveling the East Coast with the National Tour of Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Musical, and has served as Music Director for various projects in and around NYC, working throughout the City with companies such as Atlantic Theatre Company's Acting School, Joffrey Ballet School, and venues including Feinstein's/54 Below. In 2023 she released her first collection of original works titled "Fife & I," now available for purchase.

Alessandra is a graduate of the University of Montana School of Music, and studied Choral Music/Conducting through the Delaware Choral Symposium in Provence, France. In 2017, she traveled to Basel, Switzerland for the first time to study the traditions of the Basel Piccolo during their annual Fasnacht, further expanding her passion for discovering the music of other cultures. When not behind the keys, you can catch her performing with and arranging music for the Los Angeles Fifes and Drums, arranging old show tunes for full orchestra, or performing her own works for solo fife. Alessandra has enjoyed performing high woodwinds for such icons as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Universal Studios, and Disneyland.
